ILS with BREEAM certificate

ILS, the logistics company of Inter Cars, has been awarded the prestigious BREEAM ‘Very good’ certificate for its newly built Hall 6 at the European Logistics and Development Centre in Zakroczym. The high score was awarded in part for the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roof of the hall.

Sustainable development in practice

Hall 6 in Zakroczym is a unique ILS project, characterised by the use of modern sustainability solutions. An important element that contributed to the BREEAM certification was the installation of photovoltaic panels. These allow the facility to generate its own electricity, significantly reducing its carbon footprint and environmental impact. In addition, ILS has ensured the efficient use of water and building materials, which also contributed to the positive rating within the certification.

Rating in 10 categories

BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) certification is one of the world’s most widely recognised tools for assessing the environmental, social and managerial performance of buildings. Facilities seeking the award are assessed in 10 categories, including management, energy, transport, water, materials, waste, ecology, health and well-being, innovation and pollution. Hall 6 scored highly in each of these categories, demonstrating ILS’s commitment to sustainability.

Commitment to sustainability

The BREEAM ‘Very Good’ certificate awarded to ILS confirms the company’s commitment to building facilities that respect the environment and human wellbeing. The implementation of pro-environmental and pro-social technologies is a step towards a future in which ecology and energy efficiency are key elements of logistics operations. With its ILS company, Inter Cars is demonstrating that it is possible to combine infrastructure development with respect for the environment, in line with its motto “Sustainable growth of motorized mobility for the people and the climate.”.
