Inter Cars invests in automation. Warehouse in Romania to change location

The warehouse which is currently located in Romania will be relocated and automated, Piotr Zamora, Member of the Management Board and CFO of Inter Cars, announced in an interview with PAP Business. This is to take place in 2024. A representative of the Inter Cars Management Board also talked about the expansion and development of the central warehouse in Zakroczym.

“In March we started the construction of a new hall in Zakroczym. The building is currently being finished inside. We are planning to launch it at the end of Q1.2024. In the meantime, we have completed design work on the first phase of automation/robotisation (…) installation and launching is planned for the Q2.2024” – Piotr Zamora informed.

Thanks to the construction, the storage space of the warehouse in Zakroczym is to expand significantly. It is announced to increase from the current 69,000 sq. m to as much as 107,000 sq. m. Piotr Zamora also announced further warehouse investments in Poland. These include robotisation of processes at the Distribution Centre in Sosnowiec and construction, equipping and launch of a new warehouse in Poznań between 2025 and 2026.

Major investment in Romania

Piotr Zamora also announces the relocation of the warehouse, located in Brasov, Romania, to another location, as well as its modernisation, i.e. automation and robotisation. “We are in the process of signing a new lease agreement,” – specifies the Member of the Management Board of Inter Cars in an interview with PAP Business.

The changes are to be implemented in parallel with the expansion of the warehouse base in Zakroczym. Expenditure on the aforementioned investments this year will amount to PLN 150 million, the same amount is planned for next year. Also PLN 150 million of expenditure is assumed for the investment in Romania in 2024.
