Over 100,000 m2 of storage space in Zakroczym!

In the last week of March 2024, Hall 6 at the ILS European Logistics and Development Centre in Zakroczym was officially opened. This means that the total storage space of the ILS Company in this suburban location is now up to 108,000 m2 on a 25 ha of land.

More space for storing tyres and lubricants

The hall is a warehouse building with an administrative and staff area. It has been fitted with racking and storage equipment adapted to the specific nature of the process implemented on the premises. The storage of various automotive materials, mainly tyres and oils, is the main activity there. In addition, two other facilities were built in the vicinity (hall 7 and hall 8). These are smaller facilities, supporting the main infrastructure. In this investment, too, care was taken to ensure the safety and working conditions of the ILS crew, as well as modern and environmentally friendly solutions.

The investment in Zakroczym is a comprehensive project for the expansion of a complex of warehouse and office buildings, along with technical infrastructure. The project includes the construction of three halls, a shelter and a parking lot for passenger cars. Another great achievement is the installation of a photovoltaic installation on the roof of the hall with a capacity of 1.8 MW.

The construction took just over a year. The first works started in February 2023. Since then, the construction, equipping and certification has continued. An impressive pace of investment, commensurate with the impressive development of the ILS.

The implementation of the ILS Zakroczym investment brought modern warehouse and office facilities in line with the highest technical and ecological standards. Thanks to the use of modern solutions, such as a photovoltaic installation or energy recovery systems, the project fits into the concept of sustainable, says Radosław Wielechowski, ILS contract manager.

European Logistics and Development Centre getting bigger

The ILS European Logistics and Development Centre in Zakroczym is one of the largest and most modern facilities in Europe in the Automotive Aftermarket industry. On the turn of 2012 and 2013, the Company acquired the warehouse complex of the former PEWEX in the Zakroczym municipality, followed by a neighbouring investment plot from the Agricultural Property Agency.

In total almost 16 ha of land was bought, which are meant for the construction of the ILS Logistics Centre. In addition, at the turn of 2020 and 2021, a further 9 hectares were acquired – it was on this site that, among other things, a new warehouse hall was built.
